Go BIG at BOSS

What does it mean to go BIG at BOSS? We like to think of “Go BIG” as the first steps on an incredible spiritual growth journey—we sincerely believe this simple acronym can spiritually transform the lives of everyone who attends our church by making four important commitments to God:

BE at a Worship Service
IN a Community Group
GIVE your Talents and Treasures

We believe, as such a time as this, that these four commitments will transform your life and change way we serve each other and our community.

“Go BIG” is not a new concept.  It’s actually modeled after the Acts 2 Church, where the believers learned to form a deeper sense of community and love for God.  Whether you are new to the faith or have been attending church for years, this simple plan will serve as a spiritual road map that will ignite your flame to becoming the person God designed you to be.

Ready to “go BIG”? Here are some ways to get started:

BE at a Weekend Service

  1. Commit to attend one of our three services each week.
  2. Be on time—you don’t want to miss a minute!
  3. Be engaged in the worship service.
  4. Get your kids involved! Encourage them to attend BOSS Kidz Ministry or Youth Ministry!
  5. Think of our services as an outreach opportunity—pick up BOSS information cards and invite someone to attend service with you.

IN a Community Group

  1. Join a community group in your area.
  2. Lead or host a community group in your home—we’ll help you get started!
  3. If you already lead a group, personally invite someone to check out your group.
  4. Sign up for the Join the BOSS family Partnership class.
  5. Sign up to attend a Catalyst Spiritual Growth Workshop.
  6. Take one of our Sunday Equipping Classes

GIVE  Your Time and Treasures

  1. Volunteer to serve with one of our compassion ministries.
  2. Make a spiritual commitment to financially support BOSS regularly.
  3. Check out the online giving option on the BOSS website.
  4. Participate in the Financial Peace University class (January 2011).
  5. Attend Sherwood’s “Become a Joyful Giver” class.

At first I was disappointed to see that everybody did not check all the boxes on their Go Big commitment card. Then I realized that people are in different stages in their spiritual growth walk thus, their commitment to either “be in a weekend service” or one of the other options may in fact be GOING BIG to them. And I commend each person that stays committed to their commitment whatever that may be. God Bless!
